Q: I just applied for the short term medical coverage, How do I know if I have been accepted, do I have to pay that money firsthand?
A: When you enroll in an insurance plan online, you should see a confirmation screen stating that your application has been accepted. A confirmation e-mail is also sent immediately to the e-mail address you provided with the details of your coverage. If you did not provide credit card payment at the time of enrollment, your coverage does not start until payment is received - this can be done by credit card either online, by fax, by telephone or by mail. You may also mail a check with a copy of the application. Credit card payment is preferred because there is no risk of the payment being "lost in the mail" and the transaction is processed more quickly. If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation within an hour after your enrollment or you have other questions about the transaction, then call the health plan administrator and provide an alternate e-mail address for the confirmation.
